Your Questions

Is the tour suitable for children?

Youngsters who enjoy TV's "Horrible Histories" will love the tour but sensitive children may find some of the stories a little scary.  I always keep a careful eye on the youngest members of the party and adjust the intensity of the tales to suit them. Do please call if you would like more details - my phone numbers are 01267 290411 and 07752 438901.

Where do the tours begin?

On the steps of The Guildhall in Guildhall Square close to WHSmith's.  The postcode there is SA31 1PR.

Where do they end?

At Castle House, the Tourist Information Centre, the town's former Police Station.  The postcode there is SA31 1JP.

Where can we park?

The nearest car parks are at County Hall (SA31 1JP - free parking on Wednesday evenings after 6pm. Paid parking at weekends), at Friar's Park (SA31 8DN - free parking after 6pm), and opposite St Peter's Church (free after 6pm).

How far do we walk?

Not far - just a few hundred yards.  Seating is available at the start, in Nott Square and in the old Police Station.

Are toilets available?

Yes - upstairs in Castle House ninety minutes into the tour and before that in town centre pubs.

Is the tour suitable for wheelchair users?

All areas can be accessed by wheelchair.  There are some low curbs to be negotiated on Queen's Street, which is quite narrow, and we have to watch out for road traffic here.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain is rarely a problem but if we experience very heavy rain we may have to cancel the tour.  We take mobile phone numbers when you book just in case.
